I'm feeling disappointed - only one woman, excluding me, had the courage to say what was in her bag. And I was planning to publish a big fat book about the things women stuff into their handbags. I thought it would be fun and interesting to compare: do women from different cultures have similar things in their bags? What do younger and older women have in common in their bags? Is there no female bonding in the bag?
Another failed experiment? Come on ladies, tell me .. what's in your handbag right now?
P.S. I will post a photo tomorrow of the contents of my bag - well some of the contents anyway!

My bag is so not exciting!!
I carry a different one a smaller black one, a slightly larger dark brown one, or my rucksack (which is grey and pale pink) depending on my jaunt)
I used to have little fabric ones, knitted or stichted with embroidery or sequins for going out) but they ended up losing threads and gathering dust. Now where I live there is no storage space so I have had to be practical.
I always carry my bright green leather purse that I bought in New Zealand. Sometimes my mobile (if I've remembered to charge it), sometimes lipstick if I'm in the mood.
My notebooks and camera don't fit in my handbags so they go with me in my rucksack. Now I have (today!!) bought a new camera case - my new lense was too big for my old one. I always have pens (fountain, Mont Balnc black biro, pilot G1 rollerball). Sometimes chequebook (yes, sometimes we still use them!) Sometimes ipod Nano G2 (bright pink engraved with "I belong to Bubblemunch" ! a gift!)
So, not terribly exciting or different at all - hence not bothering to bore anyone with it!
Sorry not to be wildly exciting or different! ;-)
If I remember anything else that I generally (or sometimes carry) I'll add!
Oh, I did forget to say that due to my always untidy and disorganised nature, there are always a pile of receipts or shopping lists or unopened letters etc blocking it up so I can never find anything!
Hey! Thanks for this. It is exciting and fun, and very real. I like all the depending on bits - so true of creative souls (and women .. lol).
Thanks for having the courage to tell your handbag story.
Hugs
Hi there! I saw your idea on a visit to The Governess and totally ripped it off! If you check out our blog we-are-poets.blogspot.com you'll see the work the creative writing group did in relation to it! SO, don't be disappointed you inspired people all the way to Glasgow!
P.S I also did my handbag on my own blog lostfoot.blogspot.com, I'll head back there now and give you credit for the idea!x
Hey Ali, Thanks! That's wonderful!! Thanks also for crediting the idea. Will you also credit it on the we are poets blog? Do you give me permission to lift the info and photos and add them to my blog (with link backs?)
Hugs!x
Sure, that's fine and will do on we are poets x
Job done! I'd already credited you in a comment below the post, but now I've put a link in the post! Am super efficient today, it won't last lol x
